Coverage
PLOT is a shared record of nature: species, habitats, places, and the organisations and sites that affect them. This page shows how much of it PLOT can describe so far, and how much of that a person has checked. It’s a measure of the record, not of nature: a well-described place isn’t necessarily a healthy one.

Everything on the record, A–Z 33 habitats and 13 speciesClimate: how PLOT compares a place with its past
Counted on 2026-10-29, and again every night. The rules for counting were approved by PLOT’s owner on 2026-10-24. How the counting works
Against official lists
A share only means something against a list of everything there is. These are official lists, each dated and linked to where it came from. The bars run from pale (PLOT only knows the name) to dark (it’s ready for action).
Five levels
Everything on PLOT sits on the same ladder. A level is about the record, not about nature: a species at the top may be in steep decline, and PLOT can show you the evidence.
The record
Species, habitats and places are the heart of the record: what lives where, how it's doing, and how we know.
The record
Who owns, runs or looks after the land and the sites: companies, councils, agencies and community groups. It's how PLOT follows the money, and finds who could act.
The record
Where nature is lost or put under pressure, and who runs it: refineries, data centres, mines and major projects.
No pressures yet: PLOT has no pressure taxonomy yet: pressures are metrics on claims, not entities.
The record
Whether PLOT can tell someone what to do next, and whether anyone did it.
No interventions yet: PLOT has no intervention record yet: jobs are simulated (D20).

The easiest way
The single most useful thing is a source: a report, survey, plan or official page about something on this page that PLOT doesn't hold, or holds only at L0 or L1. A person at PLOT checks every one before it counts.
You'll need a free account, so you can see what happens to what you send. PLOT never shows your email.
Send a sourceCheck a fact
Every fact on PLOT links to the page and passage it came from. Open one and see if the source really says it.
Pick a placeAsk your council
Councils hold surveys and management plans that rarely reach the public. Asking for them is how many records start.

Every search follows a written method, with its questions, its sources and what it costs.

v1 drops the brief's "news/references feed live" from L4: PLOT has no feed record for species, habitats or places yet. Facets are strict: every test at a level must hold (owner's open question, recommended). Approved: Owner's decision, given in chat on 24 Oct 2026, recorded by Claude Code

Counted separately from the level, and shown as a pattern on the bars. One thing still waiting for a person marks the whole entry as waiting.
None on the record yet: Landcare and friends groups, nonprofits.

The eight sections are the company account's (profile_scope … evidence); a claim's section comes from its measure's kind or its relationship's wording (params), and "evidence" holds when any dated claim cites a published source. Councils and Landcare groups use the same sections; empty ones stay empty. Approved: Owner's decision, given in chat on 24 Oct 2026, recorded by Claude Code
